BACKGROUND
Swaziland, in Africa, is in the region of southern Africa. The Republic of South Africa almost completely surrounds it. With all the other countries in the world, Swaziland is one of the fewest that is a monarchy. Their monarchy holds the supreme executive, judicial, and legislative powers. Swazi's had migrated South before the 16th century to what is now the modern day Mozambique. There was much conflict with people living in the area of modern Maputo, they( the Swazi's) had settled in the north portion of Zululand around 1750. Since they were not able to reach the strength or growing ability of Zululand, in the 1800's they migrated to present Swaziland.
CURRENT AFFFAIRS
Swaziland has many natural resouces and a high literacy rate. Even with those though, 69% of the population are below the poverty line. It is the country with the highest HIV/AIDS in the catergory of adult pervalence in the world, at a chart topping 25.9%. It was recored in 2009 that 18,000 people were living eith HIV/AIDS in Swaziland. With this there were 7,000 deaths in the same year. One of the major problems is the lack of potable water. It is one of the biggest and most effective factors.Another one of thier problems is their King, King Mswati III. He has a whopping 125 million dollars for personal use. The King Has a family,and they live the life of big shots, with flying in jets, living in a mansion, etc., yet his whole country is suffering from lack of food, HIV, AIDS, dehydration, and so much more.
